The Sales Representative is responsible for furthering Patagonia’s mission by implementing and managing the company’s sales, marketing, and distribution objectives within a geographic territory.  The primary role is to use the Company’s resources to meet the individual needs of the wholesale account base: supporting and servicing the territory business, connecting with Patagonia’s Mission, and building momentum around local non-profits through activism. Our goal is to be the best vendor for our dealers, it’s a high standard and requires creativity, flexibility, organization, and strong communication skills.

The Sales Representative will collaborate with the Company’s other distribution channels and the Regional Manager to integrate resources as required. Sales Representatives are encouraged to volunteer with local non-profits and to get outdoors to participate in the Company’s core sports.

What you will do:

  • Meet with dealers at the showroom, in their stores and at trade shows to discuss business, review future seasons product lines, educate store staff and attend dealer/company events.
  • Help dealers plan and execute future season assortment plans and orders.
  • Collaborate with sales manager, sales reps, Dealer Service, Product, Planning and Brand Experience teams to execute in season and future season sales plans.
  • Generate and share fulfillment reports for current and future seasons order.
  • Work with dealers and Dealer Service team to maintain current season purchase orders.

Experience You Bring

  • 3+ years’ work experience as a sales representative or similar role in a dealer/account facing role
  • Professional knowledge and involvement in the activities that Patagonia builds products to support
  • Working knowledge of PC-based Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, Teams and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, graph creation, etc.)
  • Undergrad degree
  • Outdoor industry experience
  • Experience working for a brand with strong values/mission that can demonstrate what THEY did to support those values
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with all levels of an organization

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (extensive travel in the territory to visit/meet with/train/attend events in dealer stores as well as regional and national trade shows and company sales meetings)
  • Ability to drive long distances with a reliable vehicle that has Automobile Liability Insurance with a limit of not less than $500,000
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move large boxes and garment bags of clothing weighing up to 70 pounds
