Full-Time Sales Executive (Northwestern, U.S.)

Job Description

The Sales Executive is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing sales activities in accordance with the 340B Sales goals established by Avita Pharmacy. This Sales Executive reports to the Area Vice President of Sales, West.

 

NOTE:  This can be a home-based position, but it will require extensive travel around Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, so we prefer that the office is based close to a large city airport within that region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for growing new 340B covered entity relationships within a specific geographical area on an annual basis
  • Meet and exceed defined 340B entity goals by obtaining new business
  • Assist Management in developing and executing plans to grow new 340B covered entity relationships through accurate business projections, goals, and specific territory strategies
  • Master the navigation and understanding of the HRSA database
  • Educate potential 340B covered entity relationships on Avita’s offerings including general pharmacy services, benefits to customers, and benefits to patients
  • Participate in Avita sponsored sales, marketing, and community service activities as appropriate
  • Work with Avita colleagues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Meet and exceed minimum call standards through individual contacts, group in-services, and trade show attendance
  • Maintain accurate records on prospective 340B covered entity relationships within Sales Force automation
  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of itineraries, call reports, and expense reports
  • Maintain basic 340B understanding by completing the Apexus 340B training curriculum and Advanced 340B Certification

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of proven sales experience in Specialty Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of 340B and the HRSA database
  • Ability to communicate effectively to C-suite level individuals, both internally and externally
  • Has or willing to complete 340B basic training on APEXUS (6-hour program) and Advanced 340B Certification
  • Knowledge of basic principles, theory, regulations, and practices with respect to pharmacy and HIPAA
  • Willing and able to travel for business overnight up to 80%
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills via phone, video conferencing, in person, and presenting to groups
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to cultivate strategic alliances
  • Effective writing skills with strong grammar via emails, letters, and reports to various audiences including work groups, teams, company management, internal and external clients
  • Intermediate level skill/experience in MS Office: Word (creating documents, entering, and formatting text, page layouts, creating tables and adding graphics), and Excel (creating worksheets, entering data, etc.), and PowerPoint
  • Driver’s license
  • Creative thinker, self-starter, high call frequency, and strong closing skills
  • Familiarity with Specialty Drugs Plan Benefits, PBM, and Managed Care
  • Pharmaceutical sales background in physician offices and clinical knowledge preferred
  • Able to use available technology, including smartphone, tablet and/or notebook computers and other devices, as well as other Wi-Fi enabled devices and services

 

Work Conditions:

 

Note that this is a field-based position requiring on-site visits to Federal Qualified Health Facilities, Ryan White Clinics, AIDS Service Organizations, and/or any other clinic designated. Sales Executives will have regional assignments with opportunities spread throughout multiple states with travel requirements up to 80% of the time. While client touchpoints can be completed through virtual meetings, pharmacy and clinic visits will continue to be vital during a COVID environment as part of site-specific training, client on-boarding, and launching new pharmacies.
