Summary of Role
Magnet Media’s Sales Director will be an integral addition to our sales and growth strategy in 2021 and beyond. The selected candidate will help boost our aggressive growth trajectory in the brand storytelling space, while also embodying and accelerating our core MMF values:

– Focus on uncovering new business opportunities within our Key Accounts, uncovering pain points from our clients, providing creative solutions and driving revenue for the company.
– Lead and revolutionize the core vertical markets that Magnet currently excels in:  technology and financial services.
– Master our service offerings (video, podcasting, virtual events and influencer campaigns), position our differentiated approach, and present our custom offerings that are relevant to the client.
– Convert prospect conversations, from marketing and LOB leads on up to CMO level, into sales opportunities, by focusing on our core suite of capabilities and services.
– Develop strategic plans for top categories and a prioritized list of accounts.  Become an expert in lead categories to educate colleagues and anticipate topics, trends and needs of category leading clients.
– Manage B2B sales processes (both internally and externally)
– Partner with internal marketing and client services teams with clear communications to ensure we nurture leads in a timely manager, win new business, and launch successful engagements
– Pivot Magnet business from a historically SOW-driven, project-to-project business to one rooted in contracted, always-on partnerships
– Leverage top-level networking skills on a daily basis — demonstrating a love of people, a talent for outreach, a curiosity in our clients and their business objectives, and a focused discipline around meeting new people; showcasing an ability to represent the company through virtual industry events (and eventually in person events, post-COVID)

Required Skills
– A passion for video, podcasting, live events, influencers and digital storytelling; and for unearthing opportunities to tell stories at brands, both startup and Fortune 500
– Authentic curiosity and interest in our clients and their missions and business goals
– 6-8+ years sales experience with digital products/services/creative (ideally B2B and B2B2C), showing consistent achievement and growth
– Excellent communication skills: written, oral and listening
– Intellectual curiosity, a student of the business, and a love of learning
– An excellent asker of questions and gatherer of intelligence
– A high “EQ” and a love of meeting new people
– Intrinsic motivation, a strong work ethic
– Realistic, mature sensibility in account planning and forecasting but possessing a positive attitude and ability to unearth opportunity and solve problems creatively
– Resilient, results-driven attitude, and strong work ethic
– Conscientious, organized, reliable and disciplined
– Demonstrate excellence in collaboration, organization and follow through
– An interest in the business of strategic marketing, branding and the role marketers play in business growth
