Job Description

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing long-term customer relationships, generating new business and overseeing sales of new solutions. The Sales Account Manager targets prospects for company products and services. The individual will qualify incoming leads and manage new business pipeline.

  • Maintain solid working knowledge of all Somos and subsidiaries products and service offerings.
  • Drives sales by developing opportunities and drive to close with understanding of value proposition relative to the market
  • Identify new prospects within telecommunications industry and other new prospects with thorough research, calls, meetings and presentations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses, decision-makers, influencers, budget and approval processes;
  • Provide timely and impactful customer information and insights.
  • Initiate, organize, prepare and lead customer sales calls with consistent follow through.
  • Develop and close business opportunities with customers to meet assigned business objectives; lead and influence customers in decision making.
  • Provide accurate and timely pipeline reporting (Salesforce, etc.).
  • Gather and refresh industry, market and customer intelligence.
  • Represent and prioritize customer requirements with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to existing/potential customers to provide product training and to generate interest in new products.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • 5-10 years of related business development and/or sales experience involving the sale of telecommunications services.
  • Must have strong working knowledge/experience of telecommunications industry.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics, comfortable with variable compensation components.
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Strong networking and prospecting skills; able to research and prioritize potential opportunities and create relationships that lead to new sales.
  • Good strategic and creative problem-solving skills that effectively influence decision making in negotiations.
  • Ability to qualify leads effectively and manage business opportunities to consistently achieve targets.
  • Ability to identify key contacts for follow up; excellent ability to communicate project and status updates to team and cross-functionally to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to collaborate with functional groups and different levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively; strong proficiency in leading dynamic presentations to customers.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of service providers with an established network of connections.
  • Experience with CRM tool (i.e. Sales Force)including helping design and implement Sales Force
  • Knowledge of the numbering industry.
