Job Description

The Center on Substance Use and Health (CSUH) at the San Francisco Department of Public Health is looking for a full-time Research Associate who will be responsible for a wide variety of duties and projects related to behavioral or pharmacologic studies in the field of substance use. This study aims to investigate factors contributing to fatal stimulant (methamphetamine, cocaine) overdoses by conducting in-depth, qualitative interviews with individuals who knew someone who recently experienced a fatal stimulant overdose. The Research Associate is responsible for participant recruitment by calling potentially eligible individuals listed in medical and death records, screening potential participants over the phone or in-office, obtaining informed consent, proactively managing participant scheduling, conducting study visits, administering surveys, and conducting in-depth qualitative interviews. This is a temporary, grant-funded, full time, benefited position.
