Full-Time Quality Control Associate

Job Description

To inspire delight in our customers, team, and community we need to build the best customer experience in gifting and the backbone of that is our operational proficiency.  In this role, you will provide  hands-on assistance and problem-solving support to the quality control team. Ensuring quality control processes are followed and that inventory quality from our vendors is upheld to UrbanStems’ standard.

The Quality Control Associate will also support the product, and supply chain management functions, in enhancing the customer experience by providing technical guidance on product offerings and quality improvement opportunities.

Primary Functions

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, adequately staffed
  • Directly review our floral and non-floral products as they are received, processed, and prepared for shipping at our warehouse
  • Work with the Quality Control Lead to make sure that all product review quotas are met to ensure only acceptable product is sent to our facilities
  • Provide support where needed to ensure daily production schedules are met
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop and implement effective quality control processes
  • Maintain an up-to-date and competent working knowledge of specifications for new products or processes
  • Maintain record-keeping, including daily updating of quality control summary databases and informing the Quality Control Lead of any product deemed unsellable
  • Support the supplier control program, documents and records
  • Ensure credit requests are properly collected, sent to vendors and corresponding credits are received
  • Provide product feedback to the Hub team so that informed decisions can be made regarding future purchasing
  • Partner with the Quality Control Lead and Hub team to identify and test new consumer products or floral care technologies
  • Actively participate in process improvement. Assist in the ongoing development, documentation and execution of processing and quality control procedures

Preferred Experience: Previous floral experience, floral design highly desired
