Job Title: Project Connect Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Community Health Education
Location: Manhattan

Project Description: Project Connect is a program created by Apicha Community Health Center to improve health outcomes for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and intersex (LGBTQI) Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities throughout New York City. Project Connect’s goals are to: 1) Increase access and improve the quality of health and human services to LGBTQI Asian &Pacific Islanders; 2) Address homophobia and raise awareness of and support for LGBTQI Asian &Pacific Islanders; and 3) Empower LGBTQI Asian & Pacific Islanders individuals and families, thereby, improving their overall health and well-being.

Position Summary: The Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the programs and services offered through Project Connect which includes monthly health and wellness workshops, a youth mentorship for empowerment program, and LGBTQI Asian &Pacific Islanders sensitivity trainings to health and human service providers.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum work experience equivalent to 1 year of full-time work experience or high school diploma/GED and work experience equivalent to 3 years of full-time work experience.
• Familiarity with LGBTQI A&PI issues;
• Ability to work in diverse cultural environments;
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in one or more A&PI languages preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in multi-disciplinary environment.
• Creative, independent team player capable of working within an organizational structure.
• Ability to use common office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• Ability to use public transportation.
