Temporary Program Specialist 2 – Credentials Transcript Evaluator

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, temporary classified Program Specialist 2 in the Enrollment Services department. This position will work as part of a collaborative team and report directly to the Associate Registrar. Renewal of this position is contingent upon reallocation of Guided Pathways funding.

The Enrollment Services team includes the functions of admissions, credential evaluations, registration, records, and assessment.  Under the general direction of the Associate Registrar and the guidance of department leadership and/or other stakeholders, the Credentials Transcript Evaluator is responsible for assisting with initiatives related to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions functions housed in Enrollment Services. This role participates in workflow development, system configuration, support, and change documentation. Additional responsibilities include the evaluation of a variety of transcripts and other educational credentials to determine placement for math and English, the awarding of degrees, certificates, and other credentials to students at Clark College.

Common Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the point person for PeopleSoft local system configuration Transfer Credit Rules, Course Equivalencies, and Enrollment Requirements.

Contribute to department efforts to offer services and processes in support of social equity and diversity objectives established by the college.

This position reviews and evaluates incoming electronic and paper transcripts for testing, assessment, registration and graduation purposes and determines appropriate placement of credits from outside institutions based on college accreditation, course work, grade received and other criteria.

Advise community stakeholders, potential examinees, and college staff regarding testing policies and procedures by providing presentations, maintaining web presence, and promotional materials.

Collaborate with faculty in English, Mathematics and other pertinent academic areas to support transcript evaluations.

Provide explanation/clarification of college policies; interpret college policies as related to daily activities.

Determine accreditation status of institutions as defined by institutional accrediting organizations

Assist students with questions and related concerns to the evaluation of their academic records.

Provide information and technical assistance to program participants, staff and outside entities regarding evaluation results.

Ensure all information and records are accurate and kept confidential, while meeting all customer needs and deadlines.

Attend meetings and trainings associated with Enrollment services.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Competencies:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience as a Credential Evaluator OR equivalent experience in a highly detailed work environment.

Technology Skills: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Access and specialized database systems, or comparable software. Experience with automated state computer systems.

Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine status must be validated by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work. Job Readiness/Working Conditions:

Ability and willingness to sit or stand for multiple hours at a time.

The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period.

This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.

Starting Salary: $3,294/month                         Range:  42                             Code: 107I
