Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time classified, Program Manager for the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). This position reports to the Dean of Clark Libraries & Academic Success Services. The TLC Program Manager provides leadership in the development, planning, and facilitating of professional development and training opportunities focused on teaching and learning to increase student success. They collaborate with others on campus to cultivate and support teaching and service excellence at Clark College.

Position Responsibilities

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct daily and strategic operation of the TLC including personnel management, strategic planning, and budget/fiscal planning and management.
  • Define, create, and implement strategies for the design, operation, and evaluation of TLC programming that facilitates professional development, leadership development, and continuous learning for faculty.
  • Focus on professional development for faculty that is also open and available to all Clark employees. Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide clear communication regarding all professional development opportunities at Clark College.
  • Collaborate with employee development program specialists and other college stakeholders to determine, plan, and implement new training and professional development opportunities for faculty.
  • Partner with College units, departments, and shared governance groups to identify and meet the varied growth and development needs of Clark College faculty.
  • Ensure compliance of professional development initiatives by tracking attendance and inputting records into professional development databases.
  • Serve as project manager for faculty professional development programs and initiatives. Develop outcomes, timelines, and project plans.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to provide orientations for new employees and coordinate targeted programs for full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Coordinate with eLearning to arrange for professional development programming
  • presented to the college by eLearning faculty and other industry experts.
  • Research, interview, and hire outside vendors for specific programs. Secure funding and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Design, coordinate, and/or conduct workshop trainings and courses and develop programs that are based on pedagogical and andragogical practices with a focus on addressing systemic racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion. These approaches may include culturally relevant teaching practices; equity-minded syllabi; anti-racist, decolonized curriculum; growth mindset; equitable assessment; transparent teaching; and other approaches that improve student success, especially focused on closing equity gaps for systemically non-dominant students.
  • Remain current on and promote educational and technological tools and innovations.
  • Engage in and promote research-based decision making, input, and communication. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of workshops, programs, and institutes provided by the TLC. Analyze results to continually improve program content and delivery.
  • Oversee the design, production, and distribution of print materials, TLC website, and program publications.
  • Participate in college meetings, initiatives, and projects.
  • Represent Clark at selected regional and national professional development organization meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources Development or related field or program AND one (1) year of professional experience in the field.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine status must be validated by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work. Requesting a disability or religious exemption would be done through the Human Resources office.

  • Demonstrated understanding of pedagogy, adult learning theory, research-based practices for teaching and learning in higher education, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills including effective communication and planning skills, personnel administration, and budgetary responsibility.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to foster a collegial work environment that encourages change and innovation

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Starting Salary: $3,792/month     Range: 48            Code: 107R
