Job Description

The Bard Early Colleges (BECs) are branch campuses of Bard College operating in partnership with public school systems. They award tuition-free college credits and associate in arts degrees alongside high school diplomas.

This position can be based at our BHSEC Queens campus in Long Island City, New York, or remote with willingness to travel to network campuses. Start Date: September 2024

Compensation: $55,000-$60,000

Responsibilities:

  • Field alumni/ae inquiries, empowering strong volunteer leadership
  • Maintain alumni/ae contact databases
  • Source speakers and vendors for alumni/ae events such as class reunions, professional development, and social gatherings
  • Manage and develop content for Bard Early Colleges’ social media accounts
  • Maintain quarterly alumni/ae newsletter and web presence
  • Alumni/ae stewardship and prospecting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment as a team player and to take initiative
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

  • Candidates with database experience a plus

We pride ourselves on an entrepreneurial work environment in which team members have the option to work remotely as needed to accommodate travel to Bard-affiliated campuses. We encourage professional development and collaboration among team members to promote educational equity and excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or professional seeking a career in development and alumni/ae relations.
