  • Create and maintain project backlog while prioritizing and updating requirements.
  • Apply technical expertise to write clear, concise stories for engineering teams.
  • Work collaboratively within the project team to ensure that engineers have a complete understanding of user stories.
  • Test and validate that functionality has been developed correctly and meets the business objectives as described in user stories
  • Establish strong relationships with client representatives and advocate to keep parties aligned to project objectives.
  • Regularly communicate changes to technical and business decisions within the project.
  • Capture and summarize detailed requirements from discovery sessions with clients.
  • Report significant changes, resource needs, obstacles and risks to the project manager for recommendations and approvals.
  • Research industry landscapes and market factors that impact client business goals as they relate to the project.
  • Lead Design Thinking workshops to gain a deep understanding of business objectives for each project.


  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Science or Math.
  • At least 4 to 6 years of experience defining and documenting user requirements and stories.
  • Experience building custom software solutions in an Agile setting.
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal presentation and written communication skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and other client facing engagements.
  • Experience with enterprise level solutions is an asset.
  • Previous success in a dynamic, continuously changing environment.
