Job Description

At Flipboard, the Product Marketing Lead, Advertising Partnerships fulfills a critical role of fostering collaboration and communication across a wide range of teams in support of revenue objectives. This position partners directly with the Sales and Revenue Operations functions to identify customer needs and market opportunities. This person will report to our VP of Marketing and work closely with Product & Revenue leadership to evaluate, prioritize and develop new ad product solutions that will advance the business while simultaneously supporting the broader company strategy.

This role also leads the strategic positioning of Flipboard’s advertising capabilities to our external partners. The Product Marketing Lead will proactively leverage new and existing marketing and sales channels to support the revenue pipeline by driving platform awareness and ad product adoption.

Responsibilities: 

  • Represent the “voice of the customer”, understand customer needs, and act as a champion for the Revenue & Product team internally 
  • Regularly assess our ad product-market fit by conducting competitive and trend analysis, proactively proposing needed changes or new requirements
  • Identify opportunities to increase awareness of the platform and consideration for our ad offering among media buyers and throughout the industry
  • Establish a strategy to position and promote new ad products, crafting messaging and positioning that will differentiate our products 
  • Train and support Sales and Revenue Operations teams on new products and features 
  • Create client and market-facing content (sales narratives, media kits, case studies, blog posts) to communicate product benefits and customer success
  • Work with the Marketing and PR teams on support for key launch initiatives 
  • Assist on sales and customer calls to clearly convey product details, differentiation, use cases, and success stories 

Requirements:

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years experience working directly with a digital ad sales team, mobile and in-app experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage product development processes where clear input and milestones need to be coordinated among teams
  • Strong written and visual storytelling capability, experience creating client-facing materials from scratch
  • Proven project management experience, ability to coordinate the efforts between advertising teams and engineering teams in support of a common goal
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate marketplace changes, ability to adapt to changing market forces, and shift product priorities accordingly 
  • A highly collaborative individual who exudes enthusiasm for Flipboard, internally and externally

Nice to Haves: 

  • Experience with organizing and executing trade marketing programs, specifically in the ads space, is strongly preferred
  • Experience writing and giving presentations
  • Experience writing public-facing communications (social media, blog post)
