Full-Time Product Development System Technician

Job Description

The Product Development System Tech is responsible for assisting in various Product Development System projects. Duties include maintaining, modifying and repairing CyberKnife, H-Series and Radixact Radiation Delivery System computers and software; performing tests, measurements, and analysis; assisting Engineers with various Product Development tasks; selecting and purchasing supplies, components, and assemblies for maintaining and testing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair to radiation delivery system compute and network systems, in accordance with quality system requirements and associated manufacturing and service procedures.
  • Build and install PCs and networks related to radiation delivery system infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
  • Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents
  • Obtain required data sets; assist in analyzing and presenting findings.
  • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
  • Support product development after design transfer through various sustaining, field support, enhancement, and maintenance efforts under the direction/supervision of design engineers.
  • Work effectively with other engineers, scientists and vendors.
  • Work effectively with project managers, providing work estimates and reporting status and issues in a timely manner for each applicable project.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner with proper documentation, reporting promptly the progress, plans, and problems in a concise manner.
  • Collaborate with software engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve technical problems on development systems
  • Support of engineering project management by providing time estimates on work
  • Adhere to company procedure and training requirements


a. Required

  • Associates degree or Post-Secondary certificate in an IT-related field. Suitable work experience in a technically related field may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Ability to problem solve compute and network system issues and provide recommendations
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move physical inventory weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Good computer skills, including the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheets, word-processing, and email applications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and desktop hardware
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Extensive equipment support experience
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and
  • standards
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides

b. Desired or Preferred

  • SW experience, particularly python, scripting
  • Experience in system configuration management
