TELUS World of Science – Edmonton (“TWOSE”) has been building a desire for science education in Alberta since 1984. TWOSE provides the opportunity to inspires discovery and encourages science learning for all ages. TWOSE believes that engaging young minds with the exploration of science and technology will inspire them to become the innovators of the future.
Ignite Curiosity. Inspire Discovery. Celebrate Science. Change Lives. TWOSE’s mission was condensed in 2018 to a very concise eight words, just four nouns and four verbs. It is precise, inspirational, and meaningful. It is carefully crafted to carry the strong passion that the staff, volunteers, and stakeholders feel about science, education, and the role of the science centre in the community. It is a powerful rallying cry around which to build a culture of great science and great guest services.
With the pending retirement of the incumbent in 2023 there is an exciting opportunity for the right leader to join an important, successful, and growing science centre, and bring it to the next level. It will require an individual who will embrace an ambitious mandate and sees the transformational opportunity that STEM literacy has to ignite wonder and empower dreams in communities throughout Alberta, with cascading effects well beyond provincial boundaries.
In this time of unprecedented change, the opportunity is for the new President & CEO to build on strong foundational groundwork and a $42 million completed capital upgrade. The individual will lead, define, and activate how it evolves and takes shape to ensure its vision is realized to its full potential. It will require a bold, visionary, and creative leader who can ignite its purpose and bring it to fruition.
This position is located in Edmonton, Alberta. TELUS World of Science – Edmonton is a destination to engage Albertans’ hearts and minds in science. TELUS World of Science – Edmonton is located in Treaty 6 Territory and Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4.
