DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Powertrain Integration – Product Specialist to join our team specializing in pickup market powertrain integration for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Lead responsibility for on-time delivery of Pickup segment powertrain integration deliverables; transmission integration, vehicle performance, driveability, trailer towing, etc.
• Build relationships and drive collaboration with customers and key powertrain suppliers.
• Develop product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority; negotiate product requirements against capability to guide project scope; evaluate analytical, simulation and physical test results to verify product capability and validate requirements; assess legacy versus proposed system solution capabilities and produces recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions.
• Perform established technical tasks at the product and cross-business integration level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle.
• Operate as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.
• Obtain input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, customers, and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
• Solve product problems using a process that protects the customer; determine the assignable cause; implement robust, data-based solutions; and identify the systemic root cause.
• Apply and improve processes such as ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• 3-5 years prior engineering or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline
• Understanding of engine, transmission, and vehicle system performance
• Understanding of vehicle drivetrain/powertrain systems and components
• Experience integrating powertrain systems, or similar complex systems
• Customer focused with a desire to build strong relationships and deliver customer centric solutions
• Automotive experience preferred
• Excellent written and presentation communication skills

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
