Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Sitting High-Performance Director, this position coordinates essential performance analysis activities, projects and support for both the WSNT & MSNT.  General duties include but are not limited to:  analysis of match/practice data, creation of scouting reports, attendance at resident practices, attendance at camps, monitoring of athlete tracking/performance data, coordination of WSNT & MSNT scouting program and onsite data analysis at international competitions.  This position assembles confidential player and performance information. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. Cross departmental support is a general expectation of all USAV employees. .  This position is in Edmond, OK

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the world’s top female & male teams leading up to and at the World Championships, Zone Championships, & Paralympic Games and present findings to the Head Coaches.
  • Create, distribute and review scouting analytics with WSNT & MSNT Athletes and Coaches.
  • Run post-match/practice data analysis to increase the efficacy and objective nature of team debriefs.
  • Evaluate the success of training protocols using objective data analysis.
  • Provide onsite scouting/data analysis at competitions.
  • Analyze & research data from the Tokyo Paralympics then create athlete “gold medal” performance standards to evaluate athletes from both teams and for talent identification purposes.
  • Attend resident practices to capture and analyze data to be used as the basis for and the development of training protocols.
  • Develop and oversee the scouting programs for the MSNT & WSNT as well as work with Independent Contractor Analyst from both teams.
  • Capture, analyze and distribute video of opposing teams to athletes and coaches.
  • Develop objective studies that improve the value/quality of Sitting Program reports and chalk talks.
  • Manage, collect, and distribute as necessary, all athlete tracking data.
  • Collaborate with the WSNT & MSNT Sport Physiologist and PT/ATC in collecting, organizing and analyzing training data.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in Statistics, Mathematics, related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum four (4) years of scouting, data analysis experience or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of scouting, data analysis in Volleyball
  • Possess strong organizational and communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Proficient in scouting or statistical software
  • Proficient with datasets and dataset analyzation
  • Experience working with the USOPC or NGB is a plus
  • Experience with DataVolley, VolleyMetrics, VolleyStation, Hudl.com, and other volleyball statistical, video and analysis platforms
  • Must successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date.

Salary: $50,000
