Job Overview:  MissionWired is looking for a People Ops Manager to be a champion of our people, steward of change and conduit of relentless improvement in our day-to-day management of HR.  Successful candidates will be driven reformers and possess outstanding attention to detail. As a member of our team, you’ll be responsible for Compliance, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, and our Onboarding and Offboarding processes.    You are empowered to go beyond to create a best-in-class experience for our team. Core job responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a thoughtful experience for onboarding, orientation and offboarding;
  • Facilitate development and communication of HR policies and employee handbook updates; Oversee the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR policies and best practices and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Manage and process all aspects of payroll; serve as contact point for employees and partner with Finance on registration and tax reporting requirements
  • Lead benefits administration (e.g., health, 401K, PTO) including open enrollment and benefits renewal and serve as focal point for employee communication and inquiries
  • Maintain data and documentation in our Employee HRIS Platform (Rippling); provide reports, analysis and insights to help leaders makes decisions on various aspect of employee lifecycle (e.g., compensation, promotion)
  • Broader HR generalist duties as determined in collaboration with SVP Organizational Development – People & Culture




Candidate qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with payroll and benefits administration; ideally working in a fast pace, high performance startup environment;
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State employment, payroll and benefits law and regulations in multiple states;
  • Experience with Rippling for Employee & Payroll Management a plus;
  • Ability to build and manage relationships across all levels of the organization;
  • Passion for people and HR;
  • Excellent communication and people skills with a high level of professionalism and discretion;
  • A ‘Can do attitude’ and result oriented;
  • Experience in working with remote sites.


Salary floor for this role is $83,000+ per year, commensurate with experience.
