Full-Time People Operations Manager (HR Generalist)

Job Description

Musicians On Call (MOC) brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country. The People Operations Manager is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for managing all of MOC’s Human Resources activities and initiatives. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations and will be based out of Nashville, TN.

 

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Actively collaborate with MOC’s Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to ensure that MOC follows best HR practices and operates in a legally compliant manner
  • Work with the VP of Operations to enhance the organization’s overall HR strategy
  • Act as the point person for compensation, benefits, etc.
  • Ensure that payroll is submitted accurately and on time
  • Aid leadership in making MOC a best place to work by gathering and incorporating employee feedback
  • Oversee and regularly evaluate the employee performance review process 
  • Assist in managing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force, which includes planning quarterly staff education seminars, strategizing new diversity initiatives, and ensuring that MOC is on target to meet its strategic plan goals
  • Lead and expand MOC’s professional development program
  • Assist with performance management
  • Manage staff and intern recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Update the employee handbook annually and communicate any policy changes to the staff
  • Maintain employee files in accordance with the document retention policy
  • Assist with MOC’s insurance renewals 
  • Manage team celebrations and assist with annual team retreat planning
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Disciplined self-starter who can set and achieve goals with a passion for and interest in learning more about the nonprofit and HR world
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discretionary manner
  • Can prioritize projects, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure

  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Comfortable working with different technology platforms, HRIS experience a plus
  • SPHR or other HR certifications are a plus 

 

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred 
  • Minimum of three to five years experience in Human Resources
