Position Summary:

Trupanion is seeking a People & Culture Partner to join our People Operations team! This role will partner with business leaders, People Operations peers, and other internal partners to support a growing team of US, UK and Canadian team members throughout their journey at Trupanion. We are looking for a strong partner who can work to understand the goals and priorities of the teams they support, and align people solutions to help teams achieve their goals.

This role will partner with leaders in support of key priorities and the people needs of their particular business. This position will champion our culture and support all team members in a way that aligns with our mission and Team DNA.

Candidates for this position have the option to work remotely from anywhere in the US, or out of our Seattle office, depending on their preference.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Become a trusted partner to department leaders, aligning support and people solutions to achieve business objectives. Consistently deliver strategic value by deeply understanding the business and providing customized support to help enable teams to achieve their goals and deliver results.
  • Work to support strong employee engagement and retention; support culture of authenticity, transparency, accountability, and a love of pets.
  • Partner with leaders to advise in areas related to talent management, team member development, employee relations and change management
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships to be seen as a resource for team members who may need support
  • Use data to measure success: analyze trends and propose actions and solutions to further support business objectives

Experience:

  • 3+ years working in HR Business Partner or related role
  • 3+ years partnering with business leaders to understand goals and develop relevant people solutions
  • 3+ years handling employee relations – coaching, advising, and investigating team member needs and concerns
  • Experience working in a growing and innovative environment with expertise in supporting organizational change

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and develop trusted partnerships with key business leaders
  • Flexibility and resiliency; ability to move and grow at the pace of our business
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment with an ability to be nimble and pivot if priories change
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment to resolve sensitive team member issues; demonstrated integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Adept project management skills; ability to lead and collaborate to drive ideas from concept to execution
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to both think strategically and be tactically effective
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources practices and employment laws, both US federal and state and Canadian federal and provincial requirements

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree – concentrations in business, human resources, or other related fields preferred
  • Human Resources professional certifications (PHR/SPHR, CHRP, or similar programs) are a plus
