Job Description

ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City seeks an HIV prevention-focused Peer Health Navigator to be based at the Harlem Prevention Center, located in central Harlem. The anticipated start date is January 15, 2021.

Reporting to and under the direction of the Study Principal Investigator, the Peer Health Navigator will support transgender women participating in a federally-funded HIV prevention study to use study-supported services, including medication to prevent acquiring HIV. The Peer Health Navigator will also support overall study implementation, retention, and data collection according to site and study-specific procedures.

Minimum required education is a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education, training and experience. Required experience and skills include knowledge of New York City transgender and non-binary communities; experience working with diverse, medically underserved populations; excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Office Applications; demonstrated experience working effectively in a team and independently.
