If these questions resonate with you, then we invite you to consider joining our Career and Academic (CAP) Department. Our CAP courses provide credit toward the High School+ diploma, prepare students for the GED® and transition directly into college-level Math and English coursework.  Primary teaching responsibilities include contextualized CAP English and Math courses, depending on division needs and instructor’s background. This position requires the use of a variety of instructional modalities and extensive use of technology.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach CAP English and/or Math classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Effectively use computer applications for instruction, communication where appropriate and maintaining program compliance.
  • Maintain department curriculum standards.
  • Provide appropriate means to assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to respond to varying student learning styles.
  • Participate in relevant department activities supporting the teaching and learning environment.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

Position Requirements and Competencies:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Adult Education, Education, or related discipline.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Salary Statement: Lecture hourly rate is $74.93, and lab hourly rate is $63.99.
