Part-Time Part-time Office Assistant Lead – Financial Aid
Job Description
Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, permanent Classified Financial Office Assistant Lead position to work approximately 17 hours a week. This position’s main duties are to provide excellent customer service by providing front office coverage and leadership for work study employees at the front desk. Hours will typically not exceed 17 hours per week and the schedule will be up to four (4) days per week in-person.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide excellent customer service to all staff, students, faculty, and campus visitors.
Work with individual students to problem solve, independently determine what forms are required for outstanding checklists and ensure to-do items are completed accurately by the student prior to receiving aid.
Assist in training and leading the work of front-line Office Assistant 1 employee and act as support staff lead by assisting with issues/questions that arise.
Work collaboratively with leadership team on document intake and processing.
Provide consistent support for front desk functions including assisting students in completing a FAFSA/WASFA application, data entry on student files, responding to student emails, managing a multi-line phone system, and line triaging.
Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Financial aid experience, including knowledge of policies and procedures.
Proficient with PeopleSoft, Microsoft Suite and Zoom.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening skills.
Ability to work independently and lead and direct work study staff with support of supervisors.

The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
SALARY RANGE: $17.67-$23.40/hour. Step A-M | Range: 36 | Code: 100K
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
