Full-Time Night Program Coordinator at Men’s Emergency Shelter

Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Program Coordinator provides oversight and coordinates programming for the assigned program. Programing will directly address guest’s barriers and enable a smooth transition from homelessness into next step housing. Works with Program Manager to facilitate development and expansion of services and facility through engaging with the community and building networks. Time is divided between Case Management (30%), leading shift coverage and supervising front line staff (30%), administrative tasks (20%), and schedule management (20%). All responsibilities are conducted in a manner consistent with the spirit of the Compass mission and its philosophy of care.

**Effective 12/16/2021, all new hires to Compass are required as a pre-condition of employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to their start date.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Otto’s Place Enhanced Shelter removes barriers for male-identifying individuals transitioning off the street by partnering shelter with 24/7 on-site support services, intensive case management, behavioral clinician, and housing navigation. In addition to services, we provide over 120 separate sleeping areas, meals, laundry, and service pets.  Referrals are directed from the City of Seattle’s The Hope Team.

LOCATION: Pioneer Square Neighborhood (Seattle, WA)

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday 12am-8am; with occasional days, evenings & weekends as needed for emergencies

SALARY RANGE: $49,000-$55,000 Annual DOE


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience is a key factor for success in this role. In addition, success in this role requires a passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development or education. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field would be a compliment to the required experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a human service setting, desired.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in direct supervision/management of people, desired.
  • Experience in outreach, case management and other direct service delivery for homeless families and individuals, required.
  • Awareness and/or training around issues of equity, intersectionality, and belonging.
  • Current WA State Food Handlers Permit, desired (If not current, will be sponsored within 1-month of hire).
  • Familiarity with topics of housing instability, mental health, substance use, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
