Title: New Business Development Officer

Department: New Business Development (NBD)

Location: Washington, DC
Reports To: Associate Director, New Business Development

Classification: Full-time, exempt

How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?

The New Business Development Officer will lead proposal efforts across EGPAF’s country programs and at the global level. The role of the NBD Officer is instrumental to maintaining and growing EGPAF’s programs. The NBD Officer will play a key role in proposal design and management, and will directly support growth of EGPAF’s organizational strategy. They will work as a key member of the NBD team to track, prepare and submit concept papers and proposals for US Government (USAID and CDC), non-US Government, bilateral, multilateral, and private funding opportunities. As a member of the New Business Development Team, the Officer will be assigned specific proposal opportunities for the pursuit, and will contribute to the following:

 

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?

  • Lead efforts to gather and analyze intelligence regarding upcoming new business opportunities and prepare the Foundation to successfully respond to solicitations.
  • Analyze and lead the “go”/”no go” process for new funding opportunities across multiple funding sources.
  • Lead the proposal development process from capture planning to proposal development and submission.
  • Coordinate large cross-departmental proposal teams throughout the proposal planning and development process.
  • Contribute to and lead all aspects of proposal development including: opportunity analysis, partner negotiations, recruitment, preparing supporting documents, writing sections of technical narrative and budget development.
  • Support EGPAF country offices to track trends in donor funding and shifts in donor priorities.
  • Engage country office staff virtually to support proposal development and other resource mobilization initiatives.
  • Provide other new business development support as requested.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • 4 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success managing USG proposals
  • Strong proposal development skills and writing abilities, evidenced by successfully awarded USG grants and/or contracts or awards from other public sources
  • Experience drafting complex concept papers and proposals for international health programs, with excellence communication, writing, organization, and create problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel to support country program teams, up to 30%

 

Bonus points if you have:

  • A Master’s Degree, or an MPH (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with resource mobilization from multilateral donors and private foundations
  • Experience in international health and development programs
  • Experience in the HIV/AIDS international public health arena
  • Experience working in Africa
  • French or Portuguese language skills
