Full-Time Network On Demand API Product Owner

Job Description

The role and accountabilities:

Product owner for the development of the Network On Demand API product capability, with the key following responsibilities

  • Define the vision for the technical evolution of the API product capability
  • Translate the high level product requirements set by the product manager into technical requirements for the development team
  • Manage the API product capability backlog
  • Actively contribute to the API product capability development
  • Author online technical content
  • Contribute to the API standardisation work with external SDOs (eg MEF)
  • Drive key investment decisions related to the API product capability and toolset
  • Perform the product evangelist role within Colt, engaging sales, solution architects and customers to promote the adoption of the API product capability
  • Engage with Colt partners to provide on-boarding and in-life support

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in any of the following roles:
    • Product management and/or product owner for the development of API or software based product capabilities with focus on telecom or IT services
    • Senior architect role in telecom or in an adjacent industry (vendor, service provider, IT services company, web2.0 company)
    • Hands-on API development experience
  • Good understanding of API technologies: SOAP based Web Services, REST etc
  • Good understanding of waterfall, agile and DevOps development models
  • Must be fluent in English (technical and non-technical), another European language is welcome
  • Strong team player able to lead small teams and drive projects and activities
  • Excellent communicator, collaborator and “people person” capable of sharing a vision, aligning people, focusing efforts and motivating teams
  • Good presenter and inter-personal skills (senior stakeholders, customer meetings, vendor management, speaking at conferences, publishing thought leadership, active participation to SDOs and other industry forums)
  • Ability to travel regional and long-haul as required
