Full-Time Network Infrastructure Services Director

Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, exempt Network Infrastructure Services Director position in the Information Technology Services (ITS) department.  This position is responsible for providing server and network infrastructure management. This includes physical and virtual servers, network device configuration (e.g. firewalls, switches, telecom, cabling, and Data Center functions), etc. The Network Infrastructure Services Director reports to the campus Chief Information & Security Officer and hours are M-F 8-5.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior management involvement for IT services, involving multiple IT job family specialties and integrating new physical infrastructure and related technology.
  • Analyze practical situations and apply knowledge of the IT networking disciplines to meet the specialized needs of the organization.
  • Provide the highest level of technical IT expertise and guidance to organization administrators. Communicate using non-technical terms to administrators regarding required changes to IT services and functions.
  • Develop, interpret, and apply policies and procedures governing the overall delivery of IT services.
  • Mentor and coach managers, IT employees in best practices and standards in network/data center/telecom area.
  • Represent the highest level of professional expertise in consulting and advisory work across multiple job families related to IT infrastructure.
  • Provide overall strategic direction and highest-level technical guidance to assigned project or other personnel. Prepare activity and progress reports.
  • Develop the vision and design, deploy, and enhance IT service support for the organization in conjunction with Information Security Team and Information Security Standards.
  • Make strategic decisions including implementing initiatives across multiple divisions or across the agency/higher education institution.
  • Serve as a technical sponsor of large-scale IT projects.
  • Manage and monitor IT Services budgets. This includes vendor and contract management responsibilities related to purchase and PM deployment of services.
  • Manage staff for IT infrastructure team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of computer, network, IT systems or equivalent related work experience.
  • Five (5) years as a manager or lead, overseeing and/or supervising lower-level staff in the networking field.
  • Certifications or formalized experience and training in relevant network areas such as: Palo Alto, CheckPoint, Cisco CCNA, JNCP, CCNP, Juniper switch stack certs, Ruckus wireless, Datacenter build certifications.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Starting Salary: $101,953/annually
