SALARY: $34.39 – $56.74 Hourly
$71,531.20 – $118,019.20 Annually

The Business Relationship partner proactively serves as a “trusted advisor,” and function as a key point of contact for MIT business stakeholders. They will promote MIT’s vision, value, services, and capabilities. They also act as advocates on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure MIT services meet their business priorities and needs. The Business Relationship Partner will fostering inter-departmental and external partner communication and collaboration in the delivery of MIT services and projects to meet organizational goals.

The Business Relationship Partner must be able to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances, and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.

TYPICAL TASKS:

  • Ensure adoption of MIT landscape, changes, and policies through effective change management and stakeholder relations.
  • Partner with MIT Operations and Services team for escalations and improvements.
  • Exhibit thought leadership on industry trends and innovation opportunities to translate business requirements into IT projects or services that deliver future capabilities.
  • Responsible for execution of framework for cross-functional prioritization to ensure appropriate strategies and technology map results are achieved across the enterprise.
  • Drives alignment between business and IT strategies across the enterprise through routine IT planning processes and people.
  • Educate leaders on technology strategy, trends, and how this relates to their business objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT managers to identify and match customer needs with relevant products and service offering.
  • Present new products and service offerings to optimize operations and IT services.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local regional municipal partners and technology companies.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationship with internal staff members.
  • Act as project lead on IoT related projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of personal computers and networking; comprehensive knowledge of technical equipment; comprehensive knowledge of cloud computing principles, specifically related to Amazon Web Services; knowledge of Microsoft technologies in the enterprise space; ability to maintain a comprehensive and reliable network; ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; ability to solve problems; ability to manage personnel; ability to manage several projects and priorities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town officials, other public officials, employees and contractors; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in computer science, information technology, business or a closely related field and extensive experience in customer services.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience:

  • Information technology operations
  • Personal computers and networking
  • Technical equipment

Physical Requirements

Work in this class is generally inside and sedentary, however frequent movement and lifting of moderately heavy items is required in the process of moving, installing, and repairing equipment. An employee must have such visual acuity as to be able to read and write handwritten and typewritten material and to install/repair equipment. Work requires looking at a computer screen for long periods of time. An employee in this class must be able to talk and hear in order to be able to respond to the public and other employees

Requires drug testing and background check (which may include criminal check, education verification and credit history review) prior to employment.

Requires a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
