Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your facilities maintenance expertise while providing technical support for equipment? If so, this Mechanical Technician position is the role for you.

As a Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, maintaining, repairing and documenting work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment involved in facility maintenance of pharmaceutical products.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Observe and test machinery and equipment and analyze information obtained from operators to diagnose malfunctions and equipment problems.
  • Execute PM instructions based on maintenance schedules.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Repair and replace broken and malfunctioning components.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed. Record parts and materials used, and order new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Participate in the planning and installation of new equipment, writing and performing of technical procedures and change controls.
  • Complete process improvement projects to increase equipment efficiency, availability and reliability.
  • Support and meet departmental, plant and corporate EHS goals. Work in a safe and efficient manner.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Associate’s degree in Electromechanical Technology, Machine Tool Technology or related field OR 5+ years of facility maintenance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with basic electrical repairs like sensor replacements, electrical connections, motor wiring and others.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions in order to perform installation, repair, and modification work.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, email, internet).
  • Knowledge of safety compliance.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of facility related equipment (i.e. Air Handlers, boilers, chillers, air compressors, etc.), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) including validation issues and change control processes.
