Overview

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is seeking an On-Call Marketing Student Assistant. This is a 10 to 15 hour per week maximum position, with the student assistant reporting to the Associate Dean for office of development and alumni affairs.  Responsible for marketing and encouraging the donation of gifts from corporations, businesses, individuals and other non-profit organizations. Seeking an individual with an outgoing personality, comfortable in talking with potential donor prospects, and the ability to invite financial contributions. Applicants from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the field of Medicine are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Strong telephone communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with donor propsects, vendors and suppliers
  • Effectively to complete small writing assignments for events and newsletters
  • Attend events to greet donors and alumni

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, with post-secondary education preferred
  • Ability to use video platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Knowledge and proficiency in word processing and file management using Microsoft Office and other software required by the department
  • Knowledge and proficiency in grammar and spelling skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing

The Department of Pathology faculty serve as the Office of the Medical Examiner for counties throughout Michigan and northern Indiana.

The W.E.
