Full-Time Marketing Coordinator, Backlist

Job Description

To assist the Marketing Manager in the execution of brand backlist reissues, promotions and initiatives that supports the overarching strategic vision to maximize the profitability of Harlequin’s Brand Group.

The Marketing Coordinator is directly responsible for compiling, coordinating and developing key components that are critical to the execution and coordination of backlist reissue initiatives, digital promotional plans, backlist metadata optimization and brand reversion promotions to drive sales that meet the divisions strategic and financial objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Execution
• Assists the reissue of trending brand backlist assets (authors & themes) to enhance front list publishing plans, optimize brand backlist assets and increase brand revenue.
• Assist in the workflow process with all key stakeholders to ensure production deadlines for all assigned products are met.
• Supports with the packaging process for brand reissues, ensuring strong competitive packaging that reinforces author strategy and marketing objectives. This includes aligning brand teams to cover concepts.
• Contributes to the execution and testing of metadata optimization to increase conversion rates for brand backlist.
• Supports in the execution for all brand reversion titles, optimizing to result in profitable assets and tests opportunities with trending content to maintain product rights and increased revenue.
• Supports Marketing Manager in opportunities to enhance brand backlist audio inventory to increase revenue with subrights team.
Promotion
• Supports Marketing Manager with execution of promotional opportunities for titles/authors/themes, working with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure visibility of assets and inclusion in promotional programs to increase overall brand backlist revenue.
• Supports in the execution of enhanced reversion title performance with promotional tactics to maintain product rights.
• Provide executional assistance for specified brand promotions.
Communication
• Tracking of reviews, promotions and bestseller placements with communication to key stakeholders
• Ensure effective communication with all key stakeholders.
• Assist Marketing Manager in presentation materials of program results, key learnings and next steps to brand teams at monthly touch point meetings.
Analysis and Reporting
• Assist manager in the analysis and reporting of monthly brand backlist sales results (incl. repackaging, metadata, promotions and audio) and identify results trends. Participate in the presentations of recommendations to enhance performance to imprint groups.
Qualifications:
Specific training or job experience required includes:
• Marketing, Business Administration or Commerce graduate with a minimum of 2 years working experience in a product management environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with the ability to build presentation decks, schedule meetings, and create and utilize pivot tables and vlook ups.
• Ability to influence without the power of hierarchy, and continually creating new, creative packaging/promotions for product.
• Ability to manage execution and display organizational savvy.
• A drive for results and ownership of product.

• Enthusiastic, highly collaborative, team player with exceptional creativity, problem solving, decision-making and copywriting skills.
• Calm under pressure, with the ability to take initiative, and prioritize multiple projects under tight timelines.
