Job Description

The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Manager, Ticketing Strategy & Analytics

The Revenue and Commercial team oversees the Ticketing, Hospitality, Accommodations and Food & Beverage departments within the Games Planning & Delivery group.  This department is responsible for securing key revenue streams for LA28, ensuring sold out and fully attended events, and created a robust and integrated accommodations strategy that supports our key stakeholders and operational needs.

The Manager, Ticketing & Hospitality will be responsible for quantitative and strategic analyses in support of LA 2028’s Revenue & Commercial team, including but not limited to: hospitality planning and partnership management, ticketing partner evaluation and pricing strategy, venue operations planning support, and accommodations analysis.  The role will be responsible for providing data, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making on a variety of subjects including the aforementioned areas.  Additionally, this role will be expected to build relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate with other LA 2028 functions (including but not limited to the Games Planning & Delivery team, the commercial team, finance, and legal) to share feedback, intelligence, and reporting accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

Data, Reporting and Analytics

  • Build valuation models for the hospitality and ticketing businesses, developing Olympic/Paralympic ticketing models and pricing frameworks
  • Analyze historical and bid data to support ticketing, hospitality and operational models
  • Conduct market and venue research to inform models
  • Support venue cost and revenue analyses to help inform venue negotiation strategy and contract details
  • Package insights in a relevant, cohesive, and succinct storyline, with details applicable for the audience level
  • Surface insights from data analysis that can aid in decision making
  • Build and maintain automated analytical models and reporting dashboards

Strategic Initiatives

  • Support hospitality partnership deliverables and help with partner management
  • Support venue and stakeholder negotiations
  • Help in the evaluation of potential ticketing partners and support RFP development
  • Assess prior approaches to in-stadium accreditations strategy

General

  • Develop strong, respectful relationships and build credibility with key internal stakeholders
  • Prepare presentations for executive staff and key stakeholders

 

Position Requirements 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in the field of business, finance, or analytics

Expectations

  • Minimum 4-years within corporate strategy, management consulting, private equity, or business analytics
  • Prior experience in the sports industry preferred
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues
  • Ability to derive insights from data / analytics / research and present findings to all levels of an organization
  • Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with analytical and reporting tools such as SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau preferred
  • Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work where applicable
  • Ability to work effectively in a close team environment, providing project management for various projects and initiatives
