We are currently hiring for the position of: 

MANAGER, INDUSTRY CONFERENCE

Working closely with the TIFF Industry Programming Senior Manager, the Manager of TIFF Industry Conference will play a key role in the planning and delivery of compelling talks for accredited press, industry and creative professionals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Shall include but not be limited to: 

  • Working with internal teams and external partners on production of live sessions, including the development of production and technical protocols and ensuring key dates and delivery milestones are met 
  • Collaborating with internal teams and colleagues, including presenting partners and sponsors, to identify and track possible sessions and guests who will amplify films and notable talent at the festival
  • Research and identify trends in the industry and panel topics that elevate, inform and equip the film community
  • Overseeing the invitation process, with support from the Industry Programming Coordinator and Film Office, as well as ensuring all guest materials are received
  • Scheduling of Industry Conference sessions with programmers, guests and their representatives
  • Overseeing budget for guest speakers, travel and hospitality and event production
  • Compiling notes from programmers as well as drafting content (panel titles, pitches, times, venues etc.) for print and digital materials
  • Drafting press releases, session descriptions, and other materials; working with editorial, social media and web teams to ensure review of communications and marketing plans
  • Working closely with partnership teams on presenting partners and sponsors acknowledgement
  • Managing content and materials for web and print materials 
  • Managing daily events of the conference, including team and introduction schedules
  • Greeting, hosting guest speakers and introducing sessions during the Conference 
  • Collaborating with Industry team on expanding and delivering meaningful diversity and inclusion initiatives 
  • Managing the Industry Programming Coordinator
  • Writing a detailed post-mortem with recommendations on improving processes as well as updated critical path to be delivered before the end of the contract

JOB GRADE & RATE OF PAY

  • Job Grade 3
  • $23.86/Hourly

TARGET CONTRACT DATES: 

  • June 6, 2022-September 23, 2022

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the Canadian or international film industries
  • Previous experience in film festival environment an asset
  • Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to provide high quality work within strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in live event production, festival and conference programming 
  • Able to facilitate events via digital platforms or in person
  • Knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills, and experience with G Suite applications
