Full-Time Maintenance Technician at Auburn Emergency Housing

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing, or arranging for, the repair and maintenance of the physical assets (property and equipment) for Compass Housing Alliance, a multi-facility housing agency with 20+ buildings in the Seattle-King County Metropolitan area. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).

LOCATION: Auburn, WA (May at times require work at other program sites)
REPORTS TO: Senior Facilities Manager
SCHEDULE #1: Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm; with monthly staff meeting on 3rd Wednesday 12-2pm
SCHEDULE #2:Sunday-Thursday 12pm-8:30pm; with monthly staff meeting on 3rd Wednesday 12-2pm
: $24.63 per hour

  • Work experience is a key factor for success in this role. In addition, success in this role requires a passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development or education. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and an Associate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a maintenance or facilities capacity or related field.
  • Technical school or maintenance-related certification, a plus.
  • Familiarity with issues of housing instability, mental health, substance use, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
  • Valid WA driver’s license, and a driving record that meets Compass standards, required.
