Full-Time Lead – Finance and Forecasting

Aday – Posted by rsj2021 Anywhere

Job Description

ADAY is looking for an individual to build our finance and forecasting team. Within this role, you will be a key player in scaling and iterating these functions while part of a rapidly growing company. You will report directly to our Co-Founders / Co-CEOs and collaborate closely with the e-commerce ops, product and marketing teams.

In a “typical” week, you will manage our cash flow, perform KPI analysis, oversee accountants, optimize inventory efficiency and work cross-functionally to strategize and execute on what is needed for growth.

In a “typical” month, you will perform financial modeling, analyze fundamentals and forecast business performance. Moreover, you will analyze product performance, build strategies for agile planning and collaborate closely with the production team on purchase orders and supplier strategies. You will work through the monthly book close and send performance updates to our investors.

In a “typical” quarter, you will initiate and see-through long-term planning initiatives such as orders for evergreen and new, new product launches, supplier conversations regarding growth, and optimization by style. You will also create materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and lead Board of Director communication for financial and inventory performance.

That being said, no role in a start-up is ever typical which means that your role will continue to evolve as our company does too!

The ideal candidate has an analytical track record, with previous work experience in a finance role, like investment banking, audit, or the finance team at a fast-growing company. Your attention to detail is unparalleled – you are quick to notice and address discrepancies or anomalies. We don’t expect you to know all the answers but we do expect you to be open-minded, adaptable and willing to learn.

We are open to different experience levels and seniorities as long as the candidate has excellent analytical skills, strong experience with financial modeling, loves complex data problems, is fluent in excel and is excited to be a part of a mission-driven team creating a better future. Moreover, we admire individuals who are not afraid to take the initiative or speak up when they have ideas!

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Accounting proficiency
  • Management experience
  • Flexible and quick learner
  • Strong excel and financial modeling skills
  • Bonus points for a basic understanding of SQL or other database languages
  • A high performer with a degree in Finance, Math, Accounting or related field; MBA / graduate study optional
