Full-Time JavaScript Software Engineer II

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a JavaScript Software Engineer that will be responsible for development of modern web and cloud-based applications for customers and to implement Zivaro Software-as-a-Service products. This engineer will work closely with the Zivaro Director of Software to obtain assignments, communicate with customers and implement software according to established conventions and procedures.

In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. If you also have hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies, we’d like to meet you.

The engineer we are seeking must stay current with best practices, industry standards, and make recommendations as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Design and develop secure, stable frontend and backend web applications

•    Build reusable technology components in modern JS frameworks (React/Vue/Angular), Node.js, and web components

•    Work with the Director of Software to understand code and quality standards

•    Implement new code that fits well with the established patterns and style of existing software systems

•    Implement code for new systems that fit into the guidelines as established by the Director of Software

•    Document system architecture through API documentation, system diagrams, and code

•    Maintain automated tests and requirements validation tools

•    Understand and communicate complex technical concepts to product engineers and other staff

•    User-focused development working closely with interaction designers to craft compelling user experiences

•    Work within agile processes for short cycle, fast-paced delivery both independently and on a team

•    Healthy and productive communication and interaction with other ZIVARO team members and management

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Excellent HTML, JavaScript, and CSS skills and a minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience

•    Applied knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, CSS, REST, web APIs, HTML5, etc.)

•    Hands-on coding experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue)

•    Hands-on experience with Node.js and server-side JavaScript patterns

•    Hands-on experience in creating new software systems from scratch as well as working to extend existing software

•    Experience designing and implementing REST-ful APIs

•    Familiarity with tools such as Webpack/Gulp/NPM/Yarn

•    Can demonstrate customer focus while delivering quality software

•    Can work independently and as part of a team

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

•    Knowledge of OOP and design patterns

•    Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure cloud offerings

•    Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-based deployments

EDUCATION

•    Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math) preferred; or equivalent years of professional experience.

U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions at Zivaro due to security clearance constraints required for government/federal contracts held by Zivaro.
