The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for LegitScript’s corporate computer infrastructure and networks. The IT Manager will oversee a team that manages network technology, IT security, and the software platforms used by the company. The IT Manager will establish data storage infrastructure for the administrative departments, access protocols, policies, and procedures supportive of our industry compliance needs (currently SOC 2), and generally supervise the way the company’s employees access and use data, as well as interact with each other via computer.

This position will be based in our Portland Headquarters but will be remote until the pandemic subsides.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee a team that manages network technology, IT security, and the software platforms used by the company.
  • Establish data storage infrastructure and SOC2 compliant access protocols and policies.
  • Own network design and implementation.
  • Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
  • Install and configure computer network equipment.
  • Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
  • Provide network support to users, including remote users.
  • Maintain cloud-based (Microsoft Azure AD, Google Cloud Platform, AWS) servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and configurations.
  • Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
  • Manage the corporate disaster recovery program, business continuity, and associated data backup.
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades along with keeping current systems patched.
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
  • Create and maintain network users/permissions.
  • Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
  • Create technical support documentation for systems, applications, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Maintain inventory of IT purchases and assets – creating/updating inventory records, assigning equipment to users, auditing inventorying, and decommissioning
  • Development and improvement of local IT infrastructure

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4-year college or university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in a network administration role, 1-2 years managing a team.
  • Service-oriented attitude, including creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage IT staff and the IT function, including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with a willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance for the IT function.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues.
  • Experience with creating, updating, and maintaining documentation for internal infrastructure using tools like Confluence.
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously, prioritize appropriately, and communicate status. Includes being adaptive to potential changing technology requirements.
  • Excellent time management as well as the ability to use good judgment and make strong independent decisions.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages.
  • Able to identify and implement security best practices. Security certification (ITIL, SOC2, ISO 270001, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with Google Workspace (formerly GSuite), Facebook Workplace, Atlassian product suite (Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence, Trello), Zoom, MDM (Kandji, Google Workspace MDM), Slack, Microsoft 365 Suite, Azure AD, OpenVPN, etc. are a plus.
