Full-Time IT Generalist

Blink is a rapidly growing UX research and design firm that works with great companies to create meaningful digital products, brands, and experiences. With studios in Seattle, San Diego, Boston, and Austin, Blink brings two decades of experience using our evidence-driven design process to projects for clients such as Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, and NASA.
We are currently looking to hire an IT Generalist for our San Diego studio. Blink’s IT Generalist will support our staff and clients with their wide range of technology needs. This person will help manage users and system accounts, LAN, WLAN, High Def IP-based Audio-Visual technologies, and writing technical documents. This role requires someone who is an expert multi-tasker, skilled at patiently working with people from all technology backgrounds to keep our business running smoothly from an IT standpoint.

What you will be doing:

    • Support staff at the Blink San Diego studio while working on remote tickets supporting the staff at the Seattle HQ and three branch offices and remote workers.
    • Managing the UX research lab technology for our San Diego studio. This includes setting up streaming capabilities and various software/hardware needs depending on the research study.
    • Creating and updating technical processes and “how-to documents.”
    • Supporting broader IT projects and initiatives when needed.
    • Advocating for users while understanding business goals.

What we are looking for:

    • 1+ years of experience in a relevant field such as helpdesk, basic network administration, event production, and a serious tinkerer of technology.
    • Knowledge of both macOS and Windows administration and troubleshooting.
    • Experience with all forms of mobile platforms is a plus.
    • A/V tech knowledge: Understands the difference between HDMI and DVI cables.
    • Experience with using web application services like, G-Suite, Slack, etc.
    • Working knowledge of video/streaming systems, including video encoding and processing.
    • Understands technology constraints/capabilities.
