Full-Time International Logistics Coordinator

Overall Responsibilities
To effectively execute global export, including final delivery to strategic customers.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Prepare shipments for export; document preparation, ocean/air booking, customs clearance
• Generate cost saving opportunities with order consolidation & equipment optimization
• Monitor execution of final delivery to global customers – effectively communicate with global partners based on customer requirements
• Perform freight audit for global export transactions & properly assign invoice for payment
• Submission of Canadian export declarations (CERS)
• Effectively communicate with internal and external partners globally
• Liaise with project management, regulatory, procurement & logistics departments with new product launches; including but not limited to preferential trade status, import requirements & landed cost assessments
• Document & maintain records for all transactions, including expedites and/or special approvals
• Data entry; intercompany sales
• Assume additional responsibilities and/or perform special projects as needed or directed in support of customer service, traffic, customs compliance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
• Post-secondary education in Business Administration and/or Logistics Designation
• Previous experience in global freight forwarding: Ocean, Air, Courier, Intermodal
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
• Experience maintaining relationships with 3rd party providers – e.g., Freight Forwarders, 3PLs, etc.
• Working knowledge of the transportation industry regulations, both international and domestic
• Experience with international freight forwarding and required documentation – experience with food/beverage/consumables an asset
• Proven analytical skills & comfort with data
• Familiarity with GMP an asset
• Excellent communicator with cross-functional experience
• Innovative, adaptable and routinely seeking continuous improvement
• Excellent problem-solving skills – proactive & reactive when necessary
• Ability to work under time sensitive situations on a regular basis
• Ability to communicate in a multilingual capacity a strong asset e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, Etc.
