Human Resources Generalist
USA Triathlon’s mission is to grow, inspire and support the triathlon community. This position will implement human resources for USA Triathlon. Our people are our greatest asset, so this person will be responsible with delivering an industry-leading employee experience. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer.

General Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
• Creates job postings, promotes and recruits candidates for open positions, monitors resumes, distributes resumes to hiring manager, responds to applicants’ inquiries, and manages the interview process.
• Updates the applicant tracking system and audits open and closed positions.
• Communicates with applicants, including scheduling interviews, appropriate follow-up, generates offer letters and rejection letters.
• Administers background check process for employment candidates including immediately communicating results to hiring manager if clean report is received; if adverse results are received, consults with the Chief Operating Officer
• Collects and ensures completion of all required new hire paperwork; Creates and maintains HR files ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with State and Federal recordkeeping requirements; completes filing on a routine basis to ensure that all pertinent items are in the appropriate personnel file.
• Manages on-boarding checklist, coordinates new employee, temporary employees and intern onboarding sessions and creates necessary materials.

Terminations and Offboarding
• Coordinates separation process to ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements.
• Conducts the exit interview program by collecting surveys.
• Terminates employees, interns, and temporary employees via HRIS system and completes offboarding checklist.
Benefits and Insurance
• Administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees, insurance providers and broker.
• Resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans.
• Reconciles invoices and audits through HRIS system reports.
• Submits short-term disability and long-term disability claims to vendor.
• Reviews 401(k) retirement contributions from HRIS system and audits compared to vendor.
• Reviews 1095 forms and make corrections, as necessary. Submits 1094 and 1095 to the IRS.
• Plans wellness challenges and preventative screenings throughout the year.
• Initial contact for unemployment claims; provides necessary information to third party vendor.
• Submits workers compensation first report of injury claims and works with adjuster through claim process.

Compensation and Performance
• Reviews compensation data for current job descriptions and makes recommendations for Chief Operating Officer approval.
• Completes annual compensation surveys for compensation and benefits.
• Assist in implementing and updating compensation and job descriptions, as necessary.
• Conducts annual salary surveys and analyzes compensation.
• Work with leaders to perform mid-year and annual reviews.
• Updates performance review process and makes revisions as necessary.
• Annual compensation review for all staff.

Employee Relations
• Answers employee questions regarding policies and benefits.
• Answers general inquiries regarding employment opportunities, verbal verifications of employment, mortgage verifications and government verifications.
• Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
• Coaches and counsels managers and employees regarding employee issues.¬

Payroll
• Adjusts payroll through inputting new hires, processing terminations,
• Verifies benefit deductions, cell phone reimbursements, bonuses and retirement contributions.

Administration
• Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
• Maintains the employee directory via HRIS system.
• Assists the CFO/COO with various research projects and/or specific department projects.
• Coordinates monthly staff meetings, lunch and learns, and employee recognition.
• Liaison with HR legal advisors.
• Oversight of employee handbook, including updates as policies change.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities   
This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of general human resources experience preferred.
• SHRM certification or PHR preferred.
• Accustomed to multitasking and meeting multiple tight deadlines.
• Intermediate knowledge of HRIS (USAT uses Paycor), word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Solid working knowledge of general human resource functions and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with employees and managers regarding confidential situations and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills as demonstrated in cover letter and resume.

Additional Job Information:
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Hiring Pay Range: $60-$80k based on experience
This is a full time, exempt position.
