Foundry10 is a philanthropic education research organization located in the University District neighborhood in Seattle. We work in collaboration with program developers and external partners to conduct research that expands how practitioners, communities, and other researchers think about learning. Foundry10 offers competitive salaries, benefits, and vacation time. This position is located in Seattle, WA and will require the candidate to work in the office when it is safe to do so. Currently, all staff are working from home. 


Foundry10 is seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant & Receptionist to join our expanding team focused on front office management and supporting a variety of HR processes. An HR Assistant & Receptionist would have strong attention to detail, be proactive in completing tasks and identifying areas for improvement and be customer service oriented.



  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Two years related experience as an administrative or HR assistant. 
  • One year of data entry experience. 
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll or HR database software is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with commonly used workplace databases a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to maintain a high standard of sensitivity with confidential matters. 
  • Competent in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently, learn new skills and identify areas where processes could be improved. 
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to positively represent foundry10 to both potential and current employees. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a small HR team. 
  • Experience working in some aspect of Human Resources or payroll is preferred.



  • Assist with hiring activity including job postings, process and distribute resumes and employment applications, scheduling interviews and assists with other employment and recruitment activities. 
  • Prepare and manage new hire paperwork including conducting background checks. 
  • Maintain employee database and personnel files.
  • Process employee benefits.
  • Process employee payroll.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees.
  • Support and update changes to various databases. 
  • Supports employee-wide training and compliance updates. 
  • Prepares outgoing mail and processes incoming mail. 
  • Assists with preparation for meetings.
  • Sits at front desk to welcome and direct visitors, and controls guest access between the hours of 9 to 4.
  • Manages kitchen & office supply inventory and ordering.
  • Manages weekly lunch/event catering.
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls.


Pay range for this position is $27-30/hour DOE. The position is 32 hours/week with the possibility of up to 40 hours. This position will be remote until June 2021, but candidates must reside in Washington State and be willing to work in the Seattle area when our office reopens to employees.
