HOTEL SECURITY ATTENDANT OVER NIGHT COVERAGE (FULL TIME)

Wage Rates (hr.) $26.00 to $28.00 (DOE and state)

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Hotel security help protect guests and their valuables, as well as fellow hotel employees. Watch for unusual, illegal, or dangerous activities occurring on the premises. Patrol hallways, parking lots, stairwells, and lobbies. May assigned to a stationary post, such as beside an entrance. Responsible for enforcing rules.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Provide a welcoming environment and provide needed services for guests
  • Investigate incidents and create reports by recording observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Patrolling the hotel premises (both interior and exterior)
  • Checking the parking area and ensuring there are no unauthorized vehicles
  • Ensuring all hotel doors are locked and that all rooms are properly silent
  • Monitoring who enters, and who leaves, the hotel
  • Filling in the security log (this is a small report of what areas have been checked)
  • Monitoring the security cameras
  • Responding to calls when colleagues need assistance
  • Escorting guests where necessary (e.g., if they are intoxicated and need to go to their room or if they are lost)
  • Have a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Perform a variety of security checks and follow post orders as directed by the hotel
  • Patrol guest areas for suspicious activities and unauthorized people
  • Carry out surveillance of company premises with the aid of CCTV system.
  • Work in command center watching CCTV to ensure the safety of hotel guest and hotel staff
  • Respond to emergency calls while sustaining organization of the situation.
  • Prepare and maintain daily logs of activity at the facility and report any violations to the appropriate security personnel or supervisor.
  • Gather preliminary investigation information as a first responder to incident.
  • Perform all duties with discretion, professionalism, and a pleasant demeanor
  • Maintain working knowledge of facility floor plan, including emergency exits
  • Furnish emergency plan upon request
  • Update guest records as necessary
  • Report and return any guest properties found on property
  • Report cases of property damage in commercial spaces to supervisor
  • Collect and remove trash and debris, as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel security experience
  • Ability to adapt to a fluid environment

  • Some local travel may be required

  • Problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized

Must have the ability to: regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; this position requires Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, grasping, pinching, smelling, reaching/lifting above shoulders in a repetitive manner; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
