Full-Time Head of Platforms

Kubrick123 – Posted by Kubrick123 London, England, United Kingdom

Job Description

Head of Platforms

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growth and successful next generation technology consultancy firm, which was recently ranked #2 in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.

Who we are:

Kubrick exists to solve the global digital skills emergency, which is holding back organisations and people from harnessing the power of leading technology to evolve and transform. We are experts in unleashing the potential in humans and technology, shaping the workforce of tomorrow with the skills and talent needed today. We do this by growing and developing diverse groups of junior professionals with enthusiasm and potential into technology experts.

We are a multi-award-winning Group (including both the Market Disruptor of the Year and the Growing Business of the Year: Mid-Sized Company at the 2021 Growing Business Awards), recognised as the fastest growing consultancy in Europe – and currently launching in the US. We have a new Board and Executive team, including a newly appointed Chief Technology Officer, to help us achieve our vision through our next stage of growth.

Building scalable, adaptable, and automated platforms is critical to the next phase of Kubrick’s growth, and building a leading-edge, internal platforms team is the exciting start of that journey.

We’re looking for the right person, with outstanding business analysis and stakeholder skills combined with rich technical capabilities to lead the charge in building our platforms for growth, globally and across all areas of the business. Reporting directly to the CTO (Richard Peers), the successful candidate will join the Technology Leadership Team and lead our strategy, architecture, team, and business units in maximising the value of our business-critical platforms.

The Role:

We are looking for an inspirational Head of Platforms, with extensive experience of designing and implementing a modern, end-to-end platforms capability, from business requirements and process-modelling to reliable operational data flows and insights. This exciting role will be responsible for building and managing a new platforms team who will design, build and maintain our new platforms, to drive the business towards its ambitious growth targets, all supporting Kubrick’s strategy to find and support the next generation of technical talent.

Responsibilities:

Team leadership:

  • Hire, manage and develop a new, leading-edge platforms team for Kubrick Group.  We expect this to be a team of 4-5 initially in the UK, and forecast further growth internationally (US first) over time.  You will have the opportunity to build out your own team.
  • Create a supportive work environment and coach the team to increase velocity and deliver high quality outcomes, whilst maintaining high retention rates and employee net promoter scores.
  • Be hands on, helping and guiding the team when challenges arise

Platform Implementation & Roadmap

  • Join the external programme team and complete the design and implementation of Kubrick’s greenfield Salesforce (Sales Cloud) and FinancialForce (PSA and FFA) platform and integrations, working with our already appointed external team. We expect, over time, to utilise other Salesforce app exchange or integrated solutions for marketing, sales performance and recruitment automation and you will lead this implementations.
  • Articulate a vision for people, tools and processes that aligns with company objectives.
  • Manage the technology platform roadmap and priorities, align the team to that roadmap, and measure and report against progress. Stay on top of industry trends, identify gaps in our practices and propose new ideas.

 Continuous Improvement and monitoring

  • Ensure that effective solutions are proposed, tested, implemented, and continuously improved.
  • Ensure that feature development follows good practice, that an effective governance framework is in place and that solutions are secure by design.
  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring, alerting, and response processes are in place.

 External relationships

  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, working closely with our finance and legal teams on contract negotiations.
  • Effectively manage license volumes and platform costs

 Personal Specification:

  • Senior level management experience, ideally within a fast-paced and flat-structured business and leading both co-located and remote teams.
  • Demonstrable experience of presenting to and influencing senior commercial leaders.
  • Proven track record of being able to deliver and derive value from a large-scale, green-field implementation programme, ideally within a professional services context
  • Experience in delivering and integrating solutions, particularly across at least two of: Sales, Delivery and Finance functions.
  • Demonstrable experience with the Salesforce ecosystem and Sales Cloud platform and retained hands-on technical know-how.
  • Experience in creating platform strategies and roadmaps.
  • Ability to research, assess, and recommend appropriate platforms and tools through thorough selection processes and due diligence
  • Experience using a recognised business analysis and scrum development methodology.
  • Experience in mapping business processes to the technical solution and undertaking and articulating a thorough impact assessment.
  • A strong awareness of good security practices and business continuity planning methods.
  • Managing vendors, partners, and contract negotiations.
  • Comfortable with marketing automation tools and their integration into Salesforce Sales Cloud
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.

 How you work:

  • You take a customer focussed and data led approach to design and delivery decisions
  • Demonstrate interest in the service you deliver to your colleagues and team – evident in your eagerness to respond, give more than expected, keep users informed and connected.
  • You want to be the best you can be – professional, approachable, cooperative, enthusiastic – you take pride in getting it right first time and delivering the complete job – you are eager to learn and take on more responsibility
  • You see your work and the business as an organism, understand the impact different actions will have on that organism, and take actions most needed to affect the outcome the business desires.
  • You can plan and organise yours and others work effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment where you are often dealing with urgent problems or changes. You do not lose sight of the big picture, are able to prioritise on a continual basis and you spot opportunities that improve processes in the long term.
  • You have a logical and systematic nature; you search for information and evidence before making decisions and see through the noise to what matters most.
  • Great communicator and effective at bringing people together to collaborate and achieve a common goal.
  • Comfortable working on multiple, concurrent projects and work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with can-do attitude and drive work forward.
  • Willing to be flexible and adjust your approach in line with new data or changing business priorities.
  • Have acute commercial awareness, sound judgement and ask the right questions.
  • A preference for working collaboratively in a fast-paced, learning and ‘winning together’ culture.
  • An ability to create trust and build relationships with teammates, peers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Humility and integrity, a strong desire to do what’s best for the business and the team.
  • Intellectual and technical curiosity combined with excellent analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with a wider technology leadership team, and an inspirational leader in pulling cross-functional teams together
