Job Description

General Supervisor Foundry (3rd shift)

Work Mode: Onsite

Responsible for the management of the Cast Iron – Foundry Operations for 3rd shift, with a front-line focus on the HWS. Will also include all manufacturing operations (HWS, Herman, Core Room & Casting Finishing) and oversite of all plant quality functions, process control functions, technical control/support functions.

1. Plan, organize, direct, and control the daily manufacturing operations to drive improvements in safety, maintain high service levels and delivery performance, drive improvements in product quality, and continually drive down operational costs of the operation.

2. Develop and maintain the human resources in operations level to support our operational plan and our strategic plan.

3. Support and assist Manufacturing Engineering in the implementation of the Capital Plan for the Cast Iron Division.

4. Support and assist Quality organization in the maintenance and implementation of the Kohler Quality Management System throughout Cast Iron.

5. Develop and implement an annual cost reduction program to continually improve the cost per equivalent unit of the operation, improve productivity, and improve the manufacturing margins of Cast Iron

6. Provide direction Molding (HWS) and influence to all support functions to insure they are supportive of our goals and objectives for the operating plan and strategic plan.

7. Coordinate and implement safety initiatives for the Cast Iron Division which drive continuous improvement in the safety of the associates within all areas of responsibility.

8. Oversee and direct operational decisions throughout Cast Iron to support and drive daily goals.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably metallurgical), physical sciences, or operations management.
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in line and technical management in the foundry industry or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
