Full-Time Fundraising Product Manager

This exciting and brand-new role sits within our Mass Fundraising team, who are responsible for individual giving, legacies, in-memory giving, third party challenge events, and Make-A-Wish owned fundraising products and events. The team play a vital role in contributing to our goal of developing sustainable sources of income and have secured significant long-term investment to grow the fundraising programme.

The Fundraising Product Manager is the charity’s lead on all Make-A-Wish owned events and fundraising products designed for a mass audience. Working closely with the Mass Fundraising Lead, and colleagues from across the organisation, you will develop the strategy for owned fundraising products and events from scratch, identifying and prioritising opportunities for innovation and new product development, and developing and delivering Make-A-Wish owned fundraising products that engage supporters, drive participation, and bring in income.

Right now, over 60,000 children in the UK are eligible for a wish because they have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, a diagnosis that changes their lives and the lives of their families forever. The power of a wish revives a childhood stolen by critical illness. It brings light and joy to children and their loved ones, with a profound and lasting impact on all their lives.

However, it takes volunteers, community support, skills and donations to help these children to feel like children again by granting their magical wishes. So, we’re looking for people like you to help make more wishes come true!

The development of our Make-A-Wish mass fundraising products and events plan forms a critical part of this new strategy, by helping us to significantly grow our supporter database, engage new and existing supporters in a range of Make-A-Wish fundraising products and events, and ultimately support us to supporting us to generate sustainable income to achieve our ambition of granting a wish to every eligible child.

As the Make-A-Wish Fundraising Product Manager you’ll:

  • Make an incredible difference to our ability to grant wishes to critically ill children by leading on our Make-A-Wish owned fundraising products and events strategy to generate sustainable income and help us grant a wish to every eligible child.
  • As the charity’s lead on all Make-A-Wish owned fundraising products and events, you’ll be developing and managing campaigns to acquire new supporters to participate in fundraising products and developing supporter stewardship journeys to retain them both in-product and in the long-term.
  • You’ll be responsible for developing new fundraising products, working closely with colleagues from across the organisation, testing and launching these to market.

To be successful in this role, you’ll:

  • Have experience of developing, delivering and growing fundraising products for mass audiences, including delivering effective multi-channel marketing campaigns to acquire supporters at scale, delivering outstanding supporter experiences that increase fundraising and retention, and developing new products from concept to launch.
  • Have excellent budget management skills and experience of setting, managing and reporting on budgets and KPIs.
  • Be an analytical thinking with experience of using data and insight to inform decisions.
  • Have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and communicate with a range of stakeholders effectively.
  • Have strong working knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, with the ability to manage an external media agency effectively.
  • Have good working knowledge of charity law and data protection.

Location:
The person in this role can be based anywhere but will need to come to the Reading hub for organisational meetings and events as specified in the meetings’ calendar (see full job description for notes regarding travel expenses).

Hours:
12 month full-time contract.
