JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality .NET or JAVA technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle (SDLC): design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring and product evaluation. Has a solid understanding of systems analysis, design, development, and quality assurance and integration methodologies.

This role can support either .NET or Java based applications, dependent upon skill set. Will consider candidates with either .NET OR Java experience.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides C# or JAVA full stack design development of projects involving application development, migrations, and additions to existing applications.
* Develops front end website applications in close accord with a UX team and ensures the responsiveness of those applications.
* Designs and develops APIs necessary to affect front end functionality and/or be consumed by other partners.
* Designs and creates data models for applications and databases to persist them.
* Ensures responsiveness of applications.
* Participates in project meetings with other technical staff, business owners and subject matter experts.
* Assesses and develops design requirements for project and communicates in writing or in meetings with development team while assessing detailed specifications against design requirements.
* Reviews application in progress of development to ensure compliance with overall design parameters and corporate development standards.
* Develops and/or reviews development of test protocols for testing application before user acceptance with an emphasis on automated Unit Tests, Component Tests, and Scenario Tests.
* Reviews test results and directs further development.
* Stays abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
* May serve as technical lead, architect, project lead or principal developer.
* May provide, or guide provision of technical support to applications currently in production.
* May mentor or guide work of less experienced programming and development staff.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Experience working with development technologies such as C# .Net or JAVA
* Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
* Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, and React a plus
* Experience with server side frameworks such as .Net Core and .Net Framework(s) OR Spring Boot
* Familiarity with server side API concepts and tools such as OpenAPI/Swagger and REST a plus
* Proficiency with XML, SOAP & JSON a plus
* Familiarity with database technology such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB or others
* Familiarity with server virtualization and container technologies such as OpenShift or Docker desired
* Proficiency with development technique such as Test Driven Development, Unit Tests, Component Tests and Scenario Tests
* Familiarity with tools and concepts such as nUnit, jUnit, MSTest and Gherkin/Cucumber desired
* Proficiency with source code management including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines desired
* Familiarity with tools such as TFS, Jenkins, Git, Gradle and/or Maven a plus
* Familiarity in Cloud Technologies desired such as AWS Technologies, Amazon S3, Azure and/or Google Cloud
* Experience building and supporting either .NET OR JAVA applications
* Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
* Ability to develop partnership-oriented relationships with business executives and functional leaders, especially as it relates to operations and technology
* Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike
* Strong organizational and agile project management skills
* Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Black Knight or outside the organization (executives, regulators, clients, etc.)
* Results oriented, business focused, detail oriented and successful at interfacing across multiple organizational units

Applications Programmer III
Advanced professional level role. Works independently on medium to large development projects that require an in-depth technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Defines and discerns key aspects of problems that require analysis and research, and develops a solution within a broad technical and business context of significant impact. Works on multiple projects as a project team member and frequently as a project team leader. May coach and/or mentor more junior technical staff. Typically requires six (6) or more years of programming/systems analysis experience.
