We are looking for a talented Fuel Cell Engine (FCE) System Integration Leader — Technical Advisor to join our team specializing in New Power Business Segment in West Sacramento, CA

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
• This product focused, developing leadership position performs established technical tasks at the product and cross-business integration level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product engineers, product line engineers, customer teams, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
• Obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
• Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of technology integration, design, analysis and experimental test verification and validation for both new a current products that impact product form, functionality and overall project risk trade-offs.
• Creates, manages, improves and applies processes such ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
• Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.
• Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.
• Coordinates and directs work of technical project teams, up to and including direct management of small to mid-sized teams.
• Operates as the recognized multi-competency specialist or expert in a discipline or product area across a site or global business unit with responsibility for developing local talent (direct or indirect.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
Minimum B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other relevant disciplines This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience
Demonstrated success having worked in a Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering role would need 6 years plus experience in automotive industry, powertrain components and system development experience; knowledge of commercial vehicle powertrain, battery electric vehicle (BEV) and/or fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV); work experience in automotive product certification, OBD and interface with agencies preferred
• This role will be closely working with OEM, PCRA (Cummins Product Certification and Regulatory Affairs), NPBU (Cummins New Power Business Unit) internal teams and agencies to define the technical interface requirements and technical profiles for future fuel cell engine (FCE), including
• Define the technical boundary and interface with OEM and document them in the technical profiles for FCE
• Clarify and understand ZEP (Zero-Emission Powertrain) certification requirements with PCRA and CARB, define ZEP monitors and diagnostics development scope and processes with cross-functional teams in CMI, lead the development of scan tool and service strategy for future FCE product
• Clarify and understand FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) homologation and regulatory requirements for Euro/EU
• Lead certification, homologation, and compliance related development and activities with OEM’s and agencies
• Translate ISO 26262 compliance requirements and DIA etc. from external consultant, Corporate and NPBU teams into technical profiles/requirements for product development
• Lead FCE system level DFMEA , Lead FCE system development and validation activities with cross-functional teams and Interact and negotiate with internal and external suppliers, along with sourcing and purchasing teams
• Coordinate with product line, manufacturing and customer care

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
