LWTech offers ten applied bachelor’s degrees, more than 40 associate degrees and 93 professional certificates, in 43 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Summary:

Lake Washington Institute of Technology seeks a part-time Foundation Accountant to provide fiscal support for the Foundation. The Foundation Accountant reports to the Director of Financial Services.

Essential Functions:

• Analyzes and reconciles Foundation investment accounts, prepares reports and posts all adjustments.

• Bank and investment reconciliation.

• Prepares monthly Foundation financial statements.

• Prepares annual Foundation budget. Analyzes past activities and forecasts needs.

• Prepares closing entries and year-end donor endowment reports, including processing 1099’s and 1098C.

• Serves as point person for auditors during the annual audit.

• Processes and records all financial transactions into Foundation financial system.

• Processes Foundation revenue.

• Performs accounts payable functions.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in accounting, business or related field preferred

• 1-3 years of general accounting work experience, foundation and/or non-profit preferred

• Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and financial accounting and related procedures, GAAP.

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in numerical analysis; ability to perform accounting and bookkeeping functions independently

• Knowledge of and experience with computerized foundation accounting systems preferred

• Excellent customer service skills and verbal and written communication skills

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

This is a part-time, 19 hours per week position. Typically, work hours are Monday-Friday, between 7:30am-4:30pm.
