Full-Time Energy Service Solutions Sales

This role will be highly focused on our Energy and Service Solutions capabilities, tasked to lead the ALC branch with new business development and the cultivation of new solutions for projects and services for the purpose of:

  • Securing energy service contracts & projects
  • Business to business solutions development
  • Collection and analysis of customer data
  • Executing custom energy solutions projects

This position will work with Service Account Managers to identify and engage our existing customer base as well as identify new customers for new energy management solutions and advanced applications. These solutions and services include but are not limited to: Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), Cloud-Based Analytics, Chilled Water Plant Optimization, Energy Reporting, Dashboards, Networking, IOT, WebCTRL BAS and 3rd party applications.

Job responsibilities:

We are seeking a high energy, motivated technical sales professional to work with new and existing customers to promote, identify, and secure business opportunities including:

  • Cloud-Based Analytics, including SaaS models
  • Data Visualization
  • Optimization
  • Energy Dashboarding, Benchmarking, Reporting
  • Master Systems Integration
  • Occupant Engagement Strategies
  • Energy Retrofit projects
  • Energy audits
  • Automation and controls
  • Retro-Commissioning

Other specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Identify key accounts for opportunity and work with sales to develop a strategic plan and roadmap of services.
  • Solicit support from and communicate effectively with internal staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop relationships with other Sales Engineers and Project Engineers to deliver quality results.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status.
  • Attend and present at trade shows. Participate in professional organizations.
  • Represent ALC as a leader in local industry associations.
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and mentor other members of the engineering community
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
  • Participate in consultative sales of projects to customers
  • Support the creation of project proposals, RFI, RFP responses
  • Maintain frequent face-to-face contact with decision makers. Actively listen, probe and identify concerns. Understand the customer’s business and speaks their language. Develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge by writing the specification or matching the proposal to the building specifications to provide value to the customer and favorably position Automated Logic.
  • Manage a high level of activity of the pipeline in Salesforce.com with a focus on sales phase, close date, and probability of close as well as other pertinent information.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Energy Management, BMS Networks, HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred
  • Energy and technology background and acumen
  • Understanding of how new technologies can shape companies, innovate and deliver growth
  • Experience as point of contact for clients, answering queries, providing technical advice and introducing new products
  • Strong analytical, strategical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Visionary, entrepreneurial mindset, passion for innovation and drive to create business impact
  • Building Automation and/or HVAC Controls Sales and estimating capabilities
  • Promote continuing education
  • Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and how (near) real-time integrations work
  • Ambition and “figure it out” approach- ability to independently investigate internal and third-party data sources, technical specs, programming, and operational challenges with limited assistance.

Education / certifications:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree with 4-7+ years relevant experience
  • Preferred: PE license, CEM and/or LEED AP is preferred
