Full-Time Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, plan, design, and document electrical and electronic designs in accordance with product requirements. Designs may include printed circuit boards, programmable logic, and higher-level assemblies integrating custom and off-the-shelf components.
  • Collaborate with technicians and vendors to create, test, and release prototypes.
  • Test and integrate designs into the system, in collaboration with other engineers and technicians.
  • Support Engineering and Project Management in establishing and updating project timetables, providing work breakdowns, and tracking progress.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel to select vendors and components, and to transfer designs into Manufacturing.


a. Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics or engineering and at least 3 years of design and development experience in an electronics manufacturing industry. An advanced technical degree is a plus. Suitable work experience in a technically related field may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience in medical imaging design, interfaces, signal processing, and concepts is desired. Skills or experience in FPGA/PLD design, National Instruments LabVIEW (both test and product design), requirements development, project management, microcontrollers, and test protocol development are advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, as well as some familiarity with shop machinery that may be utilized to fabricate prototype components.
  • Good computer skills, including the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheets, word-processing, and email applications.
  • Familiarity with the use of engineering tools such as version control and defect tracking systems.
  • Schematic capture and printed circuit board design experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

b. Desired or Preferred

  • Experience in the full life cycle for medical electronics projects is highly desirable, including product development, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, and installed base support.
