Full-Time District Operations Manager

Job Description

MSXI is seeking a District Operations Manager in support of our Quick Lane business. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable consultant with experience in the aftermarket tire and auto parts business, providing support to the Quick Lane Dealer. This person manages and performs all of the administrative functions of their assigned Quick Lane area. Operates in accordance with all MSXI policies, procedures, and requirements. Monitors all dealer activity within their assigned Quick Lanes facilities to support the Quick Lane Brand. Ensures that actions are performed in a professional manner and that all work meets the client’s expectations. This role will manage up to 3 Field Specialists.




Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (not all-inclusive)

  • Analysis of assigned Quick Lane Dealers current business operations
  • Identification of Quick Lane Dealers areas of opportunity
  • Implementation of Quick Lane Dealers business planning initiatives
  • Basic Training of Quick Lane Dealers staff
  • Retail Merchandising of Quick Lane Dealers facility
  • Building and maintaining a solid business relationship by communicating with the assigned Quick Lane Dealers
  • Building and maintaining a solid business relationship by communicating with the assigned FCSD Region
  • Consult with Quick Lane Dealer and FCSD Region; results, goals, recommendations, and opportunities of the assigned area

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the assigned Quick Lane and consults as needed to ensure Brand Components are followed.
  • Works with Quick Lane Manager and staff to ensure customer satisfaction.


On-going Support

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (not all-inclusive)

On an on-going basis – The Quick Lane Field Specialist will continue to work with the Quick Lane Dealer’s team to maximize profits. At each visit, the Field Specialist will:

  • Analyze business opportunities
  • Evaluate dealership needs
  • Provide Dealership with recommendations and feedback
  • Introduce and follow-up Quick Lane/FCSD programs, contests, and incentives to the Quick Lane Dealer


Analysis – When Appropriate during a visit, the Quick Lane Field Specialist will conduct one or more of the following Analyses to pinpoint how you can improve the Quick Lane Dealer’s business:


  • Invoice Analysis– The Field Consultant analyzes one week of Quick Lane repair orders and determines whether proper procedures, techniques, and salesmanship are occurring and whether pay plans, ad plans, or sales forecasts need to be modified.


  • Lost Sales Analysis– The Lost Sales Analysis focuses on tire, brake, and battery sales. The Field Consultant analyzes one week of Quick Lane repair orders and identifies where opportunities were not turned into sales.


  • Operations Analysis– The annual Operations Analysis includes a physical review of the facility and its condition, the shop equipment, current merchandising, and products and services offered. This is used to compare the Quick Lane services and pricing to ensure competitiveness with other aftermarket facilities.


  • Competitive Market Analysis– Field Specialists conduct competitive market analyses to ensure that Quick Lane maintains its competitive position with regards to pricing, hours of operation, and product offerings.


Needs Evaluation – At each visit the Field Specialist will review the current operation and identify opportunities for improvement. As is required, the Field Specialist will work with the Dealers Quick Lane team to recruit additional personnel, schedule further training, modify business plans, or develop new merchandising displays.


Recommendations and Feedback – At the conclusion of each visit, the Field Specialist will summarize the findings through the Contact Report that is reviewed with the Dealer Principal (or designee(s)), and Quick Lane Manager by using the following format in the body of the contact report.


  • Issues Discussed / Observations:The Field Specialists will conduct the visit by completing any of the issues agreed upon from the last visit and observe for new recommendations.


  • Recommendations:The Field Specialists make recommendations based on observation using their aftermarket experience and any directives from FCSD or Quick Lane.


  • Next Steps:The Field Specialists will offer solutions and time frames to assist the dealer in completing any recommendations agreed on.


  • Action Plans:The Field Specialists will update and inform the dealer of action plan milestone achievements and shortfalls.



Education, training, and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of the knowledge and skills stated above.

  • Minimum of High School degree or equivalent
  • Two years of college with a strong emphasis on business skills preferred
  • Valid Driver’s license



  • Five years in an automotive service environment required; 7 or more years preferred
  • Two years of multi-store supervisory experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:                           

  • Moving about the Service Department
  • Utilizing physical and manual dexterity
  • Driving a vehicle
  • Using equipment consistent with industry standards
  • Some overnight travel will be required


  • Must own a Ford Vehicle for travel
  • Be fiscally responsible
  • Expenses reimbursed from own credit card
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
